A little menu planning freebie & new class information

(I'm learning manual on my camera this week so don't mind the uncrisp photo please!)

I was thinking it was time for a freebie to download....the first one!
I was at a friends house and she had these cute little cards with menus on them. This way she knows whats for dinner each night there's no guessing what to make for dinner. It also makes grocery shopping so much easier. I need help in this area desperately so I created 2 simple cards with 2 weeks worth of meals. I was so excited to have them I thought I'd share them with you, too! You just need to download the file, unzip and customize for you!

To download these two files click here!

All you need to do is unzip the file and open in Photoshop and replace the text section titled "weekly menu" to personalize it yourself. One of the fonts you may want to download ahead of time is Ma Sexy FREE from dafont.com. I will be updating the file later with a blank menu so all you need to do is unzip the file and print if you don't have Photoshop. Then all you'll need to do is hand write your menu for the week.

Hope you enjoy!

I'm also organizing another beginners class for Photoshop Elements. It will go from October 20-November 10. So if you've always wanted to learn this software but just wasn't sure how to get started, this is for you! Let me know if you're interested!

Field Trip

The photography class I'm taking has been awesome! And even better it requires a field trip from time to time. Each week we work on a different aspect of the camera, last week was shutter speed and this week is aperture priority. These shots are from a "field trip" the boys and I took this week. It was a beautiful day and we headed to an awesome park. It's funny how I had a certain shot I "wanted to get" using aperture. It was all set in my head all I needed was three 4 years olds to cooperate, I wasn't asking to much was I. While I didn't get "that shot" I got some other ones that I like just as much. Thanks for taking a peek!

Much fun to be had!

I stated earlier that I'm taking this awesome class over at js.com called Type+Writer. It has been so fun. It's not your typical scrapbooking class but focuses on the journaling and typography elements. Today we headed over to a website called wordle.net. Have you ever gone there? It is so cool. You can type in any block of journaling or words OR you can just type in your web/blog address and it takes the words and makes these cool blocks of word art. Then you can select the color, font, etc. You' ll have to give it a try! Here is what it did when I put in this blog addres.

And this is how we used wordle.net for our layout today! So much fun!

Let me know if you try it. I'd love to see it!

Back at it!

Ah yes! The kids are in school and I didn't want to feel left out. So, where else would I go but over to jessicasprague.com! This layout is straight out of the brand new Type + Writer class. It has been great so far! We're completing 6 layouts in 2 weeks plus learning tons of cool font/typography/journaling stuff. The layouts are completed by using a template designed by Jessica, so this one was super easy to put together. Next up is O'Shoot, a photography class at js.com taught by Candice Stringham. Can't wait!! That will get me through October at least!

And a few weeks ago on Jessicas blog she referenced and e-mail I had sent her. Its a fun Photoshop Friday technique if you're looking for something new to add to you scrapbook pages. I thought I'd post those pages for you to see. I've put together a few different templates and am going to scrapbook our entire summer vacation using those templates. That way it should be fairly quick to put together and the whole book will be rather uniform. I may even have to put up the templates for you to download if you want!

And did you see who else stopped by and left a comment...http://www.elizabethkartchner.blogspot.com/! We're taking both of the above classes together. How fun is that!! Thanks, Elizabeth, for stopping by.

Crazy Family

Sorry, Sharla, this is all we got! :) When I asked Cory to get on the top he didn't use much finesse, it was so funny, they all just groaned!
And they really didn't do this spontaneously, I told them to give each other a really mad look and this is what they did.
Just kidding...I'll add some other ones later...these just cracked me up! Cory and Paige had more fun trying to find great spots to take their picture (at least I think they did!) Thanks, guys!
