Got Valentine's?

We're just finishing up some Valentine's for Holly's class tomorrow. I couldn't resist putting these together after I saw the homemade play doh idea in Family Fun (and with a little help from my friends perfecting homemade playdoh).
1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. oil
food coloring or kool aid

I boiled the water, then added the oil to water. I had all my dry ingredients mixed together and poured boiling water and oil over top and then mixed well. To get the pink play doh color I used two packages of pink lemonade kool aid. For the red we added lots of red food coloring to the water and oil before mixing it with the dry ingredients.
Then we rolled it out and used cookie cutters to get the heart shape. The celophane bags are from Michaels and the bag toppers I made up in Photoshop. The ribbon is from my local scrapbooking store (it's American Crafts brand).

Love the homemade playdoh idea! We did the bag toppers at my DD birthday party. We also did them for her class treat. Her birthday was Valentine's Day and she forgot to hand out her bags in all the lovin' on Valentine's Day! Then, school was cancelled on Friday due to snow, so she'll pass them out Tuesday!

Love your blog, wish I found it sooner in NWR!
